Oberammergau 2010

We are pleased to inform you that bookings for Oberammergau 2010 have commenced.

Oberammergau is famous for its Passion Play, first performed in 1634. In the middle of the 30-Years War, after months of suffering and dying from the "Black Death," or plague, surviving villagers' swore an oath to perform a "Play of the Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ" every ten years. The play, originally made up of just actors from the village itself, has grown to a stage production comprised of almost 2,000 performers, singers, musicians and stage technicians. The play is performed in the 5,000 seat Passion Play Theater with its open air stage.

Creating a Community

Think of your fondest memories in life. What did they involve? Was it your wedding day? The birth of a child? How about moving into your first home? For most of us, these are probably some of our fondest memories. But if you think about it, some of our fondest memories probably also involve travel.

Most of us can attest to reliving tales with others about trips we've taken. We talk about places visited, laugh about mishaps, and radiate with joy about friendships developed. That's the beauty of travel - it creates community.

So what is it about travel that creates some of life's most precious moments? What is it about travel that brings people closer together?
